EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT

Beyond the development of job skills, the program focuses on the personal growth that comes with employment. Earning a paycheck, contributing to a team, and being recognized for one’s efforts can have a profound impact on self-esteem and personal pride.

The joy of having a job often leads to increased self-confidence, responsibility, and a deeper sense of belonging within the community. For many participants, employment becomes an important step toward greater independence and a stronger connection to the world around them.

At the Michael Lisnow Respite Center, our Employment Support Program is built on the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to contribute their talents, feel valued for their work, and experience the dignity that meaningful employment can bring.

EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT

The Employment Support Program at the Michael Lisnow Respite Center helps adults with developmental disabilities discover the pride, independence, and fulfillment that comes from meaningful work.

Through strong partnerships with local businesses and organizations, the Respite Center has developed thirteen community job sites where participants have the opportunity to gain real workplace experience. Within these settings, our team provides individualized job development, training, and ongoing coaching to help each person succeed.

Participants learn practical workplace skills while building confidence and independence in a supportive environment. Staff members may work alongside individuals to help them understand job responsibilities, develop routines, and grow comfortable interacting with coworkers and customers.
